Michael Green
Quote: “Get rich and don't spend it”

Michael “Mikey” Green first started fishing off of his great-grandmother’s dock in Miami Beach at the age of four. Even back then he says he was “an advocate of catch and release.” “My early childhood days were filled with trips to Flamingo where I enjoyed family fishing outings with my dad and brother.” When he turned 13, his father handed him the keys to a 22 foot Mako and it was history in the making. Mikey spent most of his weekends offshore fishing and learning to kite fish. During off weekends, summers and when he could sneak away from FSU, Mikey worked for Captain Bouncer Smith. Mikey says, “I am the fisherman I am today because of Bouncer’s influence and training.”
Mikey is a graduate of Florida State University and is currently in his second year at the University Of Miami School Of Law. He also works as a law clerk at Richard J. Preira & Associates, P.A.
Fishing is still a large part of Mikey’s life. When he can break away from the library he “comes home” to fish with his “second family” onboard the "Steel Magnolia" taking his place working the cockpit with Madison. Mikey says “life in the library is not all that glamorous;” he sometimes finds his way to Homestead to hang out with the Steel Crew where they have taught him about things - like four wheelers, crepes and farmland.
